Youssef Chermiti ACL Injury Rules Him Out for Significant Time

Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti will miss a 'significant period of time' after suffering an ACL injury in Sunday's defeat to Hibernian. The 22-year-old went down in the first half at Ibrox after colliding with pitchside boards, leaving the stadium in a boot and knee brace. Hours earlier, Rangers had rejected a big-money bid for Chermiti from Galatasaray.

The Portugal U21 international joined from Everton last summer in a deal worth up to £10m, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists last season. Manager Steven Gerrard expressed disappointment, noting Chermiti's importance to the team. Rangers have made nine signings this summer and are targeting additional players, including Couhaib Driouech from PSV Eindhoven for £6.5m.

The club is expected to add three to five more players before the September 3 deadline, with potential targets including Aston Villa's Kosta Nedeljkovic and Club Brugge's Hugo Siquet.
