Max Verstappen confirmed plans to return to the Nurburgring 24 Hours after a late reliability issue cost him a potential victory in Germany. The Red Bull F1 driver and his team-mates Jules Gounon, Dani Juncadella and Lucas Auer led the iconic endurance race until a driveshaft problem with 3h 20m remaining forced them out of contention.

The Dutchman impressed with daring overtakes in his first stint on Saturday afternoon, battling through traffic despite the reliability setback. Verstappen delivered an impressive performance in the Mercedes-AMG GT3, which competed against other top manufacturers including Porsche, BMW, Ferrari and Lamborghini in the premier GT3 class.

Verstappen expressed his enjoyment of endurance racing, citing the challenging circuit and team competition as appealing. His participation demonstrates his ambition to expand beyond Formula 1, with Le Mans also on his radar for future exploits outside the F1 calendar.
