Tyrrell Hatton Confirms LIV Golf Exit

Tyrrell Hatton has confirmed he is to leave LIV Golf, becoming the latest star name to announce his departure from the breakaway league. The announcement, posted on social media on Friday, comes on the same day Ian Poulter said he would not be re-signing with LIV, and two days after Louis Oosthuizen made a similar decision.

LIV Golf saw Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) end its funding earlier this season, but the league has since secured investment from BC Partners Credit as it looks to relaunch and continue in 2027. The league filed for bankruptcy protection in September with a Chapter 11 petition, saying the move was to "preserve the company's business" as it attempts to restructure. Players have been left to decide whether they wish to re-sign.

Hatton has opted against doing so. Writing on his Instagram story, he said: "Wanted to confirm that I will not be part of LIV 2.0. A big thank you to everyone for their continued support. I am excited for what the next chapter of my career holds." Earlier in October, Jon Rahm also reached a separation agreement to leave LIV Golf, and Sergio Garcia exited his contract with the circuit.

Only a handful of players are publicly committed to re-signing ahead of the initial deadline on October 25. BC Partners Credit retains the right to extend or waive that deadline, and LIV Golf's attorney said the league should know by the end of the month whether it will cease operations or move forward.
