London Spirit’s Overton highlighted The Hundred’s novelty in merging gendered teams, a rarity in sport. He added that the new trophy could spark extra motivation, as the Spirit women have finished strong in recent seasons. Kate Cross of the SunRisers echoed enthusiasm, saying the format draws large crowds during school holidays and creates a vibrant atmosphere for fans every season kickoff.

Fans can now suggest names for the team trophy, with the final title to be announced later. The 2026 edition will kick off on the Oval, featuring MI London against Leeds SunRisers. Sky Sports will broadcast the opener live, offering viewers a chance to see the new kits and trophy as The Hundred continues to shape summer cricket for fans.
