Tammy Beaumont announced her retirement from international cricket after the Rothesay Test against India at Lord's. The 35‑year‑old, who has made 260 appearances, will leave England Women as its leading ODI centurion with 12 hundreds. She also finished top‑scoring with 410 runs in the 2017 World Cup, where England lifted the trophy on home soil. Her record includes a Test double‑century – 208 at Trent Bridge during the 2023 Women's Ashes.

The decision comes as England plays its first ever women’s Test at Lord’s. Beaumont said the venue is the perfect stage to close a career that has spanned 17 years, during which she was one of the first to receive an England Women’s Central Contract in 2015.

She will remain active domestically for The Blaze and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred. Her departure leaves a gap at the top of England’s batting order, but it signals a transition point for the national side to nurture emerging talent.

Clare Connor praised her contribution, noting the devotion that forged her international career. Beaumont’s exit underscores the need for England to build a new core to sustain its recent successes.
