Moloney Signs Multi-Fight Zuffa Boxing Deal

Jason Moloney (29-4, 20 KOs) has agreed to a multi-fight contract with Zuffa Boxing following his unanimous decision victory over Andre Donovan in July. The Australian former bantamweight champion captured the world title in 2023 by defeating Vincent Astrolabio and defended it in a 12-round battle against Saul Sanchez before dropping the belt to Yoshiki Takei in Tokyo last year.

Moloney enters the partnership ranked WBC No. 3 at bantamweight and has made clear his intention to reclaim a world title. "I love what Zuffa is doing, giving the fans great fights every time and matching the best against the best," Moloney said. "That's what I'm all about, fighting the best and becoming the best."

The promotion's next event, Zuffa Boxing 10, takes place August 8 at Dublin's 3Arena and features a middleweight world championship bout between Aaron McKenna and Etinosa Oliha. Moloney's addition gives Zuffa a proven title-level operator in the bantamweight division who has fought at championship pace in three of his last four outings.

For Moloney, the move signals a calculated reset after the Takei loss. Zuffa's matchmaking model — prioritizing competitive fights over protected records — aligns with his stated goal of facing elite opposition. A title eliminator or mandatory position could materialize quickly given his ranking, but the 33-year-old's window to regain a belt is narrowing with each fight.
