England Netball head coach Anna Stembridge believes her squad can make a major impact at this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Stembridge returned to the role in March when Jess Thirlby stepped down, having previously coached from 2011 to 2015 under the name Anna Mayes.

England fell agonizingly short at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, losing by single goals to both New Zealand and Australia. While only three current squad members have Games experience, Stembridge sees opportunity in the youthful energy. Speaking on Sky Sports' Off The Court podcast, she praised the blend of emerging talent and tactical diversity within the group.

London Pulse's Olivia Tchine represents the squad's rising stars. Around 18 months ago, Tchine traveled to Australia and New Zealand as a peripheral squad member. Since then, she has put her hands up and gone, 'I'm here, I'm owning this stage,' according to Stembridge, who added that players are dominating this circle.

Stembridge emphasized her priority of building connections with club coaches and players since taking charge. She wants the squad to feel well-connected to the coaching staff and enter the Commonwealth Games with confidence. The coach called the position an honour and an absolute privilege while focusing on providing stability during this transition period.
