Rosa Simkin, the 2026 MCC Female Young Broadcaster of the Year, won the ultimate prize when she joined Sky Sports’ live coverage of The Hundred final at Lord's. During the innings break of both the women's and men's finals, Rosa conducted flash interviews with Georgia Adams of Trent Rockets and Noor Ahmad of Manchester Super Giants, as both teams lifted the titles. She also produced bite‑size highlight videos for Sky Sports Cricket’s digital channels and created content for Lord’s Instagram, giving viewers a glimpse of her day with the team.

Before the final, Rosa visited Sky’s Osterley headquarters to tour broadcast production, see how studio‑directed coverage works, and meet Jo Osborne, head of women’s sport at Sky, for a chat about navigating the industry. She then had a final prep session with the cricket production crew.

The competition, supported by Sky Sports and Take Her Lead, aims to increase opportunities for young women in sports broadcasting. It received a record 50 entries this year, with judges including Sky’s Bryan Henderson, MCC’s Katie Maier, and Take Her Lead founder Isa Guha. Rosa, a journalism student at Cardiff University from Warwickshire, first fell in love with cricket at nine when her sister Mae took her to Edgbaston. She has held ECB media accreditation since 16 and launched her platform “Rosa Talks Ball” while still at school. She co‑hosts the “Two Tiers Deep” podcast with Northamptonshire player Chloe Hill and founded “TIERED,” the first monthly magazine dedicated to women’s county cricket.

Rosa said the experience was “truly incredible” and that the competition is opening doors for her future in broadcasting.
