Rangers have condemned the on-pitch disorder that erupted after Celtic's Scottish Cup quarter-final victory at Ibrox, where police officers were injured and fans arrested. The Glasgow club broke its silence four days after the incident, issuing a statement that described the scenes as 'unacceptable' and welcomed an independent review into the events.

Both clubs faced criticism from police for failing to address the clashes publicly. Rangers emphasized that 'all parties must be prepared' to face scrutiny over the disorder, which included ticket allocation decisions and the sequence of incidents following the match. The club stated it would 'represent the club and our supporters robustly' when cooperating with authorities.

In their statement, Rangers also condemned 'vile' graffiti referencing the 1971 Ibrox Disaster that claimed 66 lives, calling it 'cowardly' and 'shameful.' The club warned that fans identified and convicted of offences will face 'appropriate sanctions,' including potential stadium bans. Rangers added they would 'not accept a narrative that ignores the full context' while respecting ongoing investigative processes.
