Police investigating the disorder following the Rangers v Celtic Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox have made two further arrests. Officers said a 27-year-old man faces charges including assaulting a police officer and possessing an offensive weapon.

A second man, 26, has been charged with assault. Both men have been released on an undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. The disorder occurred after the final whistle when officers had to keep rival fans apart, highlighting the ongoing challenges in managing one of football's most intense rivalries.

Det Ch Insp David Lamont confirmed extensive inquiries are ongoing to identify those involved. A team of officers continues examining CCTV footage, with further arrests expected. The match between these fierce rivals has once again resulted in unacceptable fan behavior requiring police intervention.
