Luke Littler's bid for a clean sweep of all major PDC titles in 2026 ended with a 10-4 quarterfinal loss to Jonny Clayton at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. The world No 1 had won six premier events already, aiming to add the World Series Finals, World Grand Prix, European Championship, Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals to complete a historic monopoly. Clayton stunned him with a late surge, winning seven of the last eight legs from 3-3.

Littler can still target non-ranked events like the World Series Finals and the four remaining majors in Leicester, Dortmund, Wolverhampton and Minehead this autumn. He currently sits 125th on the Order of Merit with six regular season events left, needing to climb into the top 64 to qualify for the Players Championship Finals in Somerset from November 27-29. The next Players Championship events are in Den Bosch and Leicester in October and November.

Jonny Clayton will face fellow Welshman Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals, while Ross Smith plays home favourite Gian van Veen. Ray van Barneveld noted the immense pressure Littler faces trying to win all majors, calling it 'big pressure' that affects even the best. Littler admitted he missed crucial darts at doubles and may skip the Players Championship Finals if his major sweep ends in Amsterdam.
