Panic is over for England fans; the team will not have to qualify for the 2027 Cricket World Cup. After a drop in 50-over rankings, successive come-from-behind wins over Sri Lanka and India have kept them inside the required top eight ahead of the September 30 cut-off.

Other guaranteed entrants include co-hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, alongside Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan. These teams secured direct passage to the tournament proper in Africa.

However, two-time champions West Indies, currently ranked 10th, must enter the qualifying tournament for the third successive 50-over World Cup. They will compete in February and March alongside Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, and the USA. Under the new format, the qualifier winner advances directly to the second stage, while others enter the Super Series.
