Former two-time world champion Adrian Lewis has described the treatment of Luke Littler by sections of the crowd as "unfair". The criticism follows Littler's experience in Amsterdam, where the British player was repeatedly whistled and booed by Dutch supporters during his bid for a clean sweep of all major PDC titles in 2026. The hostile reception was so intense that Littler threatened to boycott future tournaments in the Netherlands.

Lewis sympathised with the teenage star, saying the pressure of going for everything adds extra weight. "When you've got that going on I don't think it's nice, I don't think it's called for," Lewis stated. He emphasised that Littler is "a young lad" and "one of the best players I've ever seen," calling the crowd behaviour unfair. Lewis advised Littler to ignore the hostility, suggesting he should simply throw and engage minimally without reacting to booing or whistling.
