Dunfermline Athletic secured their place in the Scottish Cup final after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Falkirk at Hampden Park. The Championship side prevailed 4-2 on spot-kicks following a 0-0 draw in a match that lacked clear-cut chances. This marks Dunfermline's first appearance in the final since 2007, bringing them one step closer to ending a 56-year trophy drought.

The semi-final was a tense affair with few opportunities. Callumn Morrison missed an early chance for Dunfermline, while Falkirk created little despite controlling large periods. Teenage substitute Lucas Fyfe missed two glorious opportunities in extra time before the shootout. Falkirk captain Brad Spencer and Liam Henderson both missed their penalties, putting the home side immediately under pressure.

Neil Lennon's side held their nerve with Josh Cooper, Charlie Gilmour, and Chris Hamilton all converting their spot-kicks. Tashan Oakley-Boothe sealed the victory with the decisive fourth penalty. Lennon, who has won the Scottish Cup eight times as player and manager with Celtic, could face his former boss Martin O'Neill in the final on May 23 if St Mirren overcome Hibernian in Sunday's semi-final.
