Celtic secured their place in the Scottish Cup final with a commanding 6-2 victory over St Mirren after extra time at Hampden Park. The Hoops will face Dunfermline Athletic on May 23 in a repeat of the 2007 final - an emotionally charged matchup between two Celtic legends as manager Martin O'Neill takes on former captain Neil Lennon.

Daizen Maeda opened the scoring inside the first minute after capitalising on goalkeeper Ryan Mullen's error. Anthony Ralston doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time with a thunderous effort off the bar. However, St Mirren mounted a remarkable comeback through Mikael Mandron, who scored twice including a dramatic 91st-minute equaliser to force extra time.

Celtic's quality told in the additional 30 minutes. Substitute Kelechi Iheanacho headed James Forrest's cross to restore the lead six minutes into extra time, before Luke McCowan added another. Iheanacho then found the top corner for his second, and Benjamin Nygren completed the scoring. The result ensures there will be no repeat of December's League Cup final disappointment for the record champions.
