Cameron Young claimed his second PGA Tour victory at The Players Championship after a dramatic final round at TPC Sawgrass. The American overturned a four-stroke deficit with a four-under 68, finishing one shot ahead of Matt Fitzpatrick to secure the $4.5 million first prize. Young's win came after Fitzpatrick briefly took the lead with two holes remaining.

Ludvig Åberg entered the final round with a three-shot advantage but collapsed with four dropped shots over five holes on the back nine. The Swedish rookie's meltdown opened the door for Fitzpatrick, who charged from five behind to briefly lead before finding trouble on the 72nd hole. Xander Schauffele and Scotland's Bob MacIntyre tied for fourth.

Young's victory marks his first win since the 2023 Wyndham Championship and establishes him as a contender in the 2025 PGA Tour season. The 27-year-old from California never held the solo lead until his final putt, demonstrating remarkable composure under pressure to deny Fitzpatrick in regulation.
