Cameron Young claimed the Players Championship title in a thrilling final round at TPC Sawgrass, denying Matt Fitzpatrick a chance to become the first Englishman to win the PGA Tour's flagship event. Young shot a four-under-par 68 to finish on 13 under, securing his second PGA Tour victory and the biggest win of his career.

Fitzpatrick entered the final round with a one-shot lead but faltered on the 17th and 18th holes, finishing with a par-bogey to lose by one stroke. The Yorkshireman had led the field for much of the day after a strong back-nine surge, but Young's clutch birdie on the iconic 17th hole proved decisive.

Ludvig Aberg, who started the final round with a three-shot lead, collapsed with back-to-back water balls on the 11th and 12th holes, sinking his chances of victory. The Swedish player's implosion opened the door for Young and Fitzpatrick to battle it out in a tense final-hole shootout, with Young emerging victorious after Fitzpatrick's errant drive on 18 left him unable to reach the green in regulation.
