In June 2018, Cauley suffered five broken ribs, a broken leg and collapsed lung in a car crash. Medical complications in 2020 kept him sidelined until returning at a Korn Ferry Tour event in January 2024. His emotional win represented redemption after a grueling 15-year professional journey.

Tommy Fleetwood entered the final round two shots behind leader Jackson Suber but struggled to a tie for 11th at 11-under. Suber finished tied for fourth at 13-under alongside Brice Garnett, Jimmy Stanger and Jesper Svensson. Fitzpatrick's runner-up finish kept him in contention for PGA Tour Player of the Year honors.
