Aberdeen 1-1 Falkirk: Robinson's debut ends in late draw

Stephen Robinson's first match as Aberdeen head coach ended in frustration as Barney Stewart's stoppage-time equaliser denied the Dons a win over Falkirk at Pittodrie. The 1-1 draw came after Kevin Nisbet had given Aberdeen the lead in the 73rd minute, only for Stewart to head home from Ethan Ross's cross in the 89th minute.

Robinson, appointed nine-and-a-half weeks after Jimmy Thelin's departure, switched to a 5-3-2 formation and made several tactical changes. The former Motherwell boss introduced Lyall Cameron from the bench in the 60th minute alongside Toyosi Olusanya and Ante Palaversa. Despite the late disappointment, Robinson praised his team's improved structure and highlighted Liam Morrison's performance as a positive from the match.

The draw leaves Aberdeen in a precarious position in the Scottish Premiership table, having won just one of their last six matches. Falkirk, managed by John McGlynn, showed resilience to claim a point, with their goalkeeper Scott Bain's error leading to Nisbet's goal before Stewart's dramatic late intervention secured a share of the spoils.
