The 2026 Formula 1 season may finish in Europe if the final two races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi cannot be held amid the Middle East conflict. F1 president Stefano Domenicali confirmed the possibility, noting that Bahrain’s GP has already been relocated to Malaysia.

With the Bahrain Grand Prix now hosted in Malaysia, doubts remain over the Qatar (Nov 27‑29) and Abu Dhabi (Dec 4‑6) events. Domenicali said the decision will be made by mid‑September, and that Europe is the only feasible alternative because of439 Brexit‑connected documentation.

Imola is a potential replacement venue, but a second Las Vegas race was ultimately ruled out to avoid diluting the event and competing with the NFL. The championship’s title battle could be affected, as Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli leads Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton by 50 points with 12 rounds left.

The season resumes after the summer break with a Sprint weekend at the Dutch GP from Aug 21‑23.
