Wrexham has secured their second summer signing with the acquisition of midfielder Ben Whiteman from Preston, agreeing to a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. Whiteman, who served as captain for Preston in the Championship last season, contributed two goals and five assists in 43 league games.

"It's an amazing feeling to be here, I'm thrilled to sign for Wrexham," Whiteman stated. "I think any Championship player at this moment in time wants to join this Football Club. Wrexham is a Club that wants to get to the Premier League and so do I."

Whiteman's career includes a spell in Manchester United's academy, followed by stints at Sheffield United and Doncaster before joining Preston in 2021. He amassed over 220 appearances for Preston. Wrexham, recently promoted three times under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, narrowly missed the promotion playoffs last season. Manager Phil Parkinson expressed his delight, calling Whiteman an "experienced Championship player."
