Major League Soccer has launched an investigation into a tampering allegation against Inter Miami concerning the acquisition of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro. The LA Galaxy reportedly filed the claim, alleging Inter Miami contacted Casemiro without first securing the player's Discovery Priority.

While Inter Miami and the LA Galaxy have since reached a settlement regarding Casemiro's Discovery Priority, MLS confirmed the review will proceed. "The league is gathering all relevant information and will refrain from further comment until the review is complete," MLS stated. League rules allow clubs to place up to five players on their discovery list, granting them exclusive negotiation rights. The Galaxy held priority for Casemiro, necessitating a settlement for Inter Miami to acquire his rights.

Following the settlement, Inter Miami signed Casemiro to a contract extending through the 2027 MLS season, with an option for an extension. The terms of the settlement between the clubs will be disclosed after the tampering investigation concludes.
