Manchester United are set to open negotiations with Barcelona over the signing of defender Alejandro Balde, while Chelsea are set to receive a bid from Manchester City for midfielder Enzo Fernández. Join us for the latest transfer news and rumors from around the globe.

Alejandro Balde could leave Barcelona with Manchester United having shown an interest in the left back, according to Nicolo Schira. It is expected that there will be direct talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, very soon about a potential move for the 22-year-old. Sources told ESPN on Monday that the Red Devils were monitoring Balde's situation due to concerns that Luke Shaw will not be able to play three games a week in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.

A proposal from Manchester City is coming for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández, Fabrizio Romano reports. It is unknown exactly when the Citizens will make their move for the 25-year-old, but they will be strong in their approach. An agreement regarding personal terms shouldn't be an issue, especially as the Argentina international has given a green light to proceed. Nicolo Schira adds that Fernández is pushing for the move, while the Citizens are confident of completing a deal for €130m.

Aston Villa have made an offer for Jean-Philippe Mateta but it falls far below what Crystal Palace want for the striker, according to The Athletic. Juventus are unimpressed with Randal Kolo Muani's performances and are now looking at Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth. AC Milan winger Rafael Leão remains a target for Galatasaray after Aston Villa withdrew their interest. Tottenham have agreed a seasonlong loan deal with Manchester City for forward Omar Marmoush with an obligation to sign him permanently for £60 million ($82m) next year.
