Former England and Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has revealed he has stage four cancer. The 75-year-old provided an update on his health during an appearance at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House over the weekend. Keegan mentioned meeting a Liverpool-supporting doctor with a new approach to fighting his condition, stating "I knew I wouldn't be walking alone, if you know what I mean."

Keegan had initially revealed his cancer diagnosis in January. The legendary footballer began his career with Scunthorpe before joining Liverpool in 1971, winning three First Division titles and the 1977 European Cup. He also won Ballon d'Or twice with Hamburg and represented England 63 times. As a manager, he led Newcastle to the Premier League and came close to winning the 1995-96 title.

Newcastle United sent their best wishes to Keegan on Monday, stating he "will always be warmly welcomed" at St James' Park. The club emphasized his "unique and cherished place in the history of Newcastle." Keegan expressed a desire to return to the stadium to say proper goodbye, noting he didn't get that chance when he last left the club.
