Inter Miami faces Leagues Cup without Luis Suárez

Inter Miami will be without star forward Luis Suárez for the entirety of the upcoming Leagues Cup due to a six-game ban. The suspension stems from an incident where Suárez spat at a Seattle Sounders staff member after last year's tournament final, a match Inter Miami lost 3-0.

Coach Guillermo Hoyos emphasized Suárez's irreplaceability, stating, "Luis is irreplaceable. They are players that mark the path." This ban comes as Suárez has been in exceptional form, scoring seven goals in four games recently, leading the team's attack in the absence of Lionel Messi and Germán Berterame. His last performance included a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw against the Columbus Crew.

While other players involved in the post-final brawl, Sergio Busquets and Tomás Avilés, are no longer with the club, Suárez's absence is a significant blow. Inter Miami begins its Leagues Cup campaign against Atlético de San Luis on Wednesday.
