Major League Soccer has suspended Inter Miami coach Guillermo Hoyos for one match due to repeated violations of the league's late kickoff policy. The sanction was announced Thursday, with Hoyos set to serve the suspension during the Aug. 29 match against CF Montréal at Nu Stadium. MLS also fined Hoyos an undisclosed amount.

The league confirmed violations occurred in matches against Nashville on Aug. 15, Philadelphia Union on Aug. 19, and Toronto on Aug. 22. The policy requires all clubs to be on the field and ready at scheduled kickoff times for both halves, with escalating penalties for repeat offenses.

The suspension comes amid a five-game winless streak for Inter Miami, which includes four losses and one draw across Leagues Cup and MLS play. Following a 2-1 defeat to Toronto, Hoyos accepted responsibility for the poor run, stating the struggle with results affects the team's mindset. Despite the slump, Inter Miami remains second in the Eastern Conference with 39 points in 21 matches.
