Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick says the club "want" and "need" to do more transfer business before the summer window closes on September 1. United have signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans for a combined £85m while also securing goalkeeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer. Three youngsters have also arrived but are not expected to make immediate first-team impact.

Carrick told Sky Sports News: "We're delighted with the players we've brought in... We want more, we need more. We keep looking forward to how we can do that." The club have welcomed back Marcus Rashford from his Barcelona loan, with Carrick saying the forward brings "a group of things that we haven't got."

United are in the market for a left-back, with Newcastle's Lewis Hall considered unattainable and Fulham's Antonee Robinson also eyed. Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly is a long-term target. A third central midfielder remains possible but not guaranteed after the arrivals of Tielemans and Santos.
