Bubista, the coach who guided Cape Verde to a historic World Cup debut, has been appointed as the new coach of Moroccan club RS Berkane. He has signed a two-year contract, replacing Moïne Chaâbani.

The Cape Verde Football Federation expressed gratitude for Bubista's "dedication, professionalism, and contribution." Under his leadership, the team achieved a remarkable World Cup campaign, notably holding eventual champions Spain to a 0-0 draw. They also secured draws against Uruguay and Saudi Arabia, advancing to the round of 32.

Despite a 3-2 loss to Argentina in the knockout stage, Cape Verde's performance was lauded, with Sidny Lopes Cabral's goal earning "best goal of the tournament" honors. RS Berkane, a club that won the CAF Confederation Cup in 2025, is associated with Fouzi Lekjaa, a prominent figure in Moroccan football and an ally of FIFA president Gianni Infantino.
