Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen was denied a vote in Sunday's presidential election due to an administrative error, ESPN sources confirmed. The German international arrived at Spotify Camp Nou with thousands of other club members to cast his ballot between incumbent Joan Laporta and challenger Victor Font.

Ter Stegen waited five minutes at his polling station only to discover his name was missing from the electoral register. The 33-year-old, currently on loan at Girona while recovering from injury, had failed to update his club membership status. All Barcelona players receive membership upon joining but must maintain active status.

A total of 114,504 members were eligible to vote across multiple locations including Tarragona, Girona, Lleida, and Andorra. Several current and former players successfully cast ballots, including Aitana Bonmatí, Laia Aleixandri, Héctor Fort, Sergio Busquets, Xavi Hernández, Guillermo Amor, and Carles Rexach. Voting closed at 9pm local time with results expected shortly after.
