Joan Laporta has been re-elected as Barcelona president for a five-year term after defeating Victor Font in Sunday's election. With over 24,643 votes counted from 36,117 ballots, Laporta secured an insurmountable lead in the club's democratic process. The election saw a 42.34% turnout among 114,504 eligible members who cast their votes at multiple polling stations including Spotify Camp Nou.

Sunday's election coincided with Barcelona's 5-2 victory over Sevilla in LaLiga, creating a festive atmosphere at the stadium. Coach Hansi Flick and several first-team players, including Raphinha, Pedri, and Dani Olmo, participated in voting after the match. The election also featured some notable moments, including goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen's embarrassing inability to vote due to not being registered as a club member, despite all players automatically receiving membership upon joining.

This marks Laporta's second consecutive term and his second spell as Barcelona president overall. He previously served from 2003 to 2010, overseeing the club's first Treble under Pep Guardiola. Since returning in 2021, Barcelona has won two LaLiga titles and reached the Champions League semifinals under Flick's management. Laporta's campaign emphasized the club's financial recovery and the ongoing Spotify Camp Nou renovation project, while Font challenged his opponent on these very issues.
