Intel has quietly begun open-source enablement for its next-generation Xe3P graphics architecture within Mesa drivers. According to Phoronix, the company is establishing foundational code paths for the Iris OpenGL and Anvil Vulkan drivers, though functional support remains weeks away. This early groundwork ensures driver readiness when Xe3P GPUs launch.

We expect to see the first Xe3P implementations this year across multiple Intel products. The architecture will appear in Nova Lake desktop processors for consumers, likely arriving later this year. Early indications suggest Nova Lake-P chips will feature Xe3P-LPG for integrated graphics, alongside specialized Xe3P variants for media processing (Xe3P-LPM) and display output (Xe3P-LPD).

Beyond consumer chips, Intel's AI-focused Crescent Island inference GPU will also leverage Xe3P technology with 160 GB of onboard LPDDR5X memory. While performance specifications remain undisclosed, this comprehensive rollout across Intel's product stack demonstrates the company's commitment to open-source graphics support and positions Xe3P as a cornerstone of Intel's next-generation computing strategy.
