Buffalo Sabres center Sam Carrick left Tuesday night's 4-3 win over the New York Islanders with a left arm injury sustained during a fight with Islanders captain Anders Lee. Carrick required assistance leaving the ice after the incident, which occurred when his left arm was caught at an awkward angle during the altercation.

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff confirmed after the game that Carrick injured his left arm in the fight. "It'll be evaluated and we'll see tomorrow exactly what that is," Ruff said. The fourth-line center had been productive in his first 12 games with Buffalo, scoring five goals with one assist.

Carrick, 34, was acquired by the Sabres on March 6 in a trade with the New York Rangers that sent him to Buffalo for 2026 third- and sixth-round draft picks. He had recorded four goals and six assists in 60 games with the Rangers before the trade. The veteran forward was expected to provide depth for Buffalo's playoff push, making this injury particularly concerning for the team's postseason plans.
