Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk expressed frustration over a White House AI-generated video that doctored his words to appear critical of Canadians. The video, released by the White House's official TikTok account, used footage from a 2023 press conference and added fabricated dialogue about 'maple syrup eating' Canadians.

The 25-year-old Tkachuk, who won Olympic gold with Team USA in Milan, clarified that neither his voice nor his lips moved in the altered clip. 'I would never say that. That's not who I am,' he stated during his first media availability since returning from the Olympics. The AI-generated content has amassed over 11 million views on TikTok.

Tkachuk also addressed controversy surrounding a locker room celebration where some claimed he shouted 'Close the northern border!' - a statement he denied making. The forward emphasized his positive relationship with Canadian fans despite his role in defeating their national team, noting the 'unique feeling' of representing the U.S. while captaining a Canadian-based NHL team. He described his Olympic experience as achieving a 'childhood dream' and bringing gold back to the United States.
