Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has informed the team he will return for a 14th NFL season, just before the start of free agency. The three-time Super Bowl champion made his decision public on Monday, ending speculation about his future with the franchise.

At age 36, Kelce remains one of the league's elite tight ends, leading the Chiefs last season in targets (108), receptions (76), yards (851), and receiving first downs (45). His return provides stability to Kansas City's offense alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes and pass rusher Chris Jones. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach had expressed hope for Kelce's return, acknowledging the veteran's unique situation as a future Hall of Famer weighing his options.

Kelce's decision comes after a season where he rededicated himself to training, improving his quickness and creating 424 yards after the catch. He became the third tight end in NFL history to reach 13,000 receiving yards in just 192 games and recorded 75 receptions for the 10th consecutive season. The Chiefs selected Kelce 63rd overall in the 2013 NFL draft, and he has been with coach Andy Reid throughout his entire career.
