He wants to prove he can play better than last year, when he led the Chiefs in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Two of his biggest mistakes were drops that turned into interceptions, including a critical one near the goal line against the Eagles. \n\nAnother reason for his return is to continue playing with Patrick Mahomes, who is recovering from a torn ACL and LCL. Kelce praised Mahomes' resilience: “If you see him out here, he's enjoying the game, competing at a high level and not thinking about the knee.” The Chiefs open the season Sept. 14 against the Denver Broncos.
