Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce says he can still play at a high level in what could be his final NFL season, emphasizing accountability as a leader. The 36-year-old tight end, who returned on a one-year, $12 million deal, aims to improve after a season with key drops that led to interceptions. \n\n“I've still got a lot of love for this game,” Kelce said. He wants to prove he can play better than last year, when he led the Chiefs in targets, receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Two of his biggest mistakes were drops that turned into interceptions, including a critical one near the goal line against the Eagles. \n\nAnother reason for his return is to continue playing with Patrick Mahomes, who is recovering from a torn ACL and LCL. Kelce praised Mahomes' resilience: “If you see him out here, he's enjoying the game, competing at a high level and not thinking about the knee.” The Chiefs open the season Sept. 14 against the Denver Broncos.
