The Houston Texans have agreed to a two-year, $25 million contract with free agent offensive tackle Braden Smith, according to ESPN. The deal includes $13.5 million fully guaranteed, marking the team's latest move to strengthen their offensive line this offseason.

Smith, 29, returns to the NFL after a successful 2024 season with the Indianapolis Colts following a mental health absence in 2023. The Colts placed him on the non-football illness list after he missed the final five games of the previous season due to obsessive compulsive disorder. He rebounded to start 13 games at right tackle last season.

A 2018 second-round pick, Smith has started 105 of 107 career games and was once the league's highest-paid right tackle. His addition comes as the Texans have been reshaping their offensive line, having re-signed Trent Brown and Ed Ingram while trading away Tytus Howard and Juice Scruggs.
