The Houston Texans have reached an agreement with veteran offensive tackle Trent Brown on a one-year extension worth up to $7 million, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. The deal comes after the Texans traded away two offensive linemen - Tytus Howard to the Cleveland Browns and Juice Scruggs to the Detroit Lions as part of the David Montgomery trade.

Brown, who stands 6-foot-8 and weighs 380 pounds, was a spot starter for the Texans last season but proved effective when healthy enough to play in Week 10 after recovering from a knee injury. During Weeks 10-16, he allowed the sixth-lowest pressure rate (7.1%) among right tackles with at least 200 pass blocking reps according to Next Gen Stats. The 32-year-old has appeared in 110 games with 103 starts over his 11-season career.

The seventh-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015, Brown was a Pro Bowl selection in 2019 while playing for the Raiders. His re-signing provides the Texans with experienced depth on the offensive line as they prepare for the 2026 season, particularly after losing two starters in recent trades.
