New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson publicly endorsed head coach Kellen Moore and the coaching staff during a practice appearance, signaling no immediate changes despite the team's disappointing 1-4 start. Benson previously told fans that "words will not restore our fans' confidence" and that performance must do the job. The Saints have dropped three straight games, with their defense ranked 25th in the NFL and allowing 30.2 points per game.
Second-year quarterback Tyler Shough and the offense have committed eight turnovers during the skid. Key injuries to rookie wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, running back Travis Etienne, and left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. have further hampered the team. Moore, in his second year, led a strong finish to his first season, but expectations were high for a competitive 2026 campaign.
General manager Mickey Loomis stated the goal is to win the division and make a playoff run.
