Ravens President Defends Maxx Crosby Trade Fallout

Baltimore Ravens team president Sashi Brown defended the team's handling of the failed Maxx Crosby trade, blaming media criticism on 'a slow news cycle.' Speaking at the NFL annual meeting, Brown insisted the rescinded deal won't harm the Ravens' league relationships, emphasizing their commitment to 'doing things the right way.'

Brown explained that the March 10 trade collapse, which would have sent two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders, was due to medical concerns about Crosby's knee durability. The team backed out after seeing imaging from Crosby's physical, citing a 'degenerative issue.' A day later, Baltimore signed Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract without surrendering draft capital.

The Raiders' John Spytek said Crosby is 'working his ass off to get healthy' and expects him ready for training camp. Brown argued the trade process shouldn't be reformed, stating, 'I think this is how it should be handled.' He noted similar situations occur, citing the Cleveland Browns' recent decision not to sign AJ Epenesa over medical concerns.
