Ravens Land Trey Hendrickson After Maxx Crosby Deal Falls Through

The Baltimore Ravens have signed veteran pass rusher Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract, pivoting quickly after their trade for Maxx Crosby collapsed due to medical concerns. The move addresses Baltimore's desperate need for edge rushing help, as the team lacked a single player with more than 4.5 sacks last season.

Hendrickson, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, brings proven production with 79 sacks since 2019, including 33 in the fourth quarter and overtime—the most in the NFL during that span. While not the same caliber run defender as Crosby, Hendrickson's relentless pass-rushing ability fits Baltimore's "Play like a Raven" culture perfectly. The Ravens had pursued Crosby aggressively, even agreeing to trade their 2026 and 2027 first-round picks before backing out.

The deal allows Baltimore to keep its draft capital while adding a proven closer who can help solve their NFL-worst 16 blown leads in the final five minutes over the past five seasons. Though Crosby remains the superior all-around player, the Ravens' combination of Hendrickson plus retained draft picks could prove advantageous if they select impact players with those selections.
