Authorities in Tyler, Texas arrested Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, for violating his probation. The arrest occurred after a warrant was issued. The elder Mahomes, 55, was meeting with his probation officer when taken into custody. He's currently held in Smith County jail.

Mahomes Sr. received a five-year probation sentence in August 2024 following a guilty plea to a DWI charge. A probation violation report indicated a high alcohol reading on his ankle monitor on January 1st. This arrest comes after his son, Patrick Mahomes, led the Chiefs to a second straight Super Bowl victory.
