Robin DeLorenzo, one of the first three women to officiate an NFL game, has filed a federal lawsuit against the league alleging gender discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court, seeks her reinstatement and unspecified damages after her firing in February 2025 following three years of alleged abuse.

DeLorenzo claims she endured open hostility, humiliation, and sexist treatment from the moment she joined the NFL in 2022. The lawsuit details incidents including being forced to sing in front of players and staff, receiving man-sized clothing, and facing repeated harassment from a crew chief who allegedly refused to speak to her by season's end. She also claims she was required to attend training meant for lower-level officials, a requirement not imposed on male colleagues.

The case highlights systemic issues within NFL officiating, where DeLorenzo says she broke barriers only to face retaliation and career sabotage. Her attorneys argue the league denied her equal resources, manipulated her opportunities, and ultimately ended her career based on tainted evaluations from those who discriminated against her. The NFL and NFL Referees Association have not commented on the allegations.
