Paganetti's Sept. 1 post on X detailed how the New England Patriots used a reverse All-22 view on videoboards during opposing kickers' attempts, creating an optical illusion with offset goalposts. He studied over a decade of Patriots broadcasts while Bill Belichick was head coach from 2000 to 2023, finding that of 52 kicks analyzed, the reverse view was never shown when the Patriots kicked.

The NFL confirmed the Patriots operated within existing rules during that period. However, the new policy ensures competitive equity by standardizing videoboard content for both teams.
