Minshew Masters Cardinals' New Offensive System

Gardner Minshew II is rapidly adapting to the Arizona Cardinals' new offensive scheme under first-year head coach Mike LaFleur. The veteran quarterback, who has joined his sixth team in eight years, has found the Cardinals' system similar to the Air Raid offense he thrived in at Washington State, giving him a familiar foundation to build upon.

Minshew's quick acclimation stems from his experience with five different NFL organizations and a pre-existing relationship with LaFleur. The two connected during the 2019 Senior Bowl when they spent four hours studying together, a connection that eventually led to Minshew's signing with Arizona this March.

Despite being the highest QB on the depth chart during offseason activities with incumbent starter Jacoby Brissett holding out, Minshew downplays the competition narrative. He focuses on daily improvement, emphasizing that "all you really have is your opportunity to work and get better" as he continues to solidify his standing with the Cardinals organization.
