The Arizona Cardinals finalized a one-year, $8.25 million agreement with quarterback Gardner Minshew, a source confirmed to ESPN. Minshew, 29, will serve as backup to starter Jacoby Brissett. This signing follows the team's earlier moves including a two-year, $11.47 million deal with wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and a three-year, $31.5 million contract with guard Isaac Seumalo.

Minshew's arrival provides immediate depth behind Brissett, who missed significant time last season with a torn ACL. The quarterback's recent history includes a brief start against the Titans in December 2024 after Mahomes' injury, though he exited with a knee injury. Minshew brings experience from his time with five teams, including a Pro Bowl season with the Colts in 2023 where he threw for 3,305 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Bourne, 30, returns to Arizona for a second stint after a productive 2023 season with the 49ers, where he combined for 15 catches and 284 yards in Weeks 5 and 6. Seumalo, 32, adds veteran guard stability after his time with the Steelers, where he made 13 starts in 2024 despite injuries.
