Rams coach Sean McVay said he doesn't have an answer on whether Aaron Donald will come out of retirement, but the former defensive tackle "looked outstanding" during his workout with the team on Tuesday.

Donald, 35, was listed on the NFL transaction wire as taking part in a tryout with the Rams, which McVay described as "kind of semantical" regarding CBA legalities. The session took place at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles on a players' day off during training camp, working with defensive line coach Giff Smith, sports medicine executive Reggie Scott, and strength coach Justin Lovett.

"He's very deliberate and intentional about what this looks like," McVay said. "Things are going in the right direction. He's feeling good, but we're not to where we are able to say whether or not he is or isn't ready to do it. But he's doing great and he looked outstanding as I think all of us would expect."

McVay confirmed Donald will not work out again with the Rams during this process but has other offsite plans. He emphasized that if Donald returns, it would be "all in," and praised the veteran's decade of contributions to the organization.
