Jets WR Wilson Open About Frustration But Wants to Stay

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson made two things abundantly clear Wednesday: He doesn't want to be traded, but he's extremely frustrated by his lack of involvement in the offense and, most of all, the losing.

"Yeah, I want to be here, man," Wilson said. "I want to win games and that's the one thing we've been missing on here. I love it here. Do I love it more than I love winning? Nah, to be completely honest, but I'm hopeful."

Wilson was visibly upset on the sideline in the fourth quarter of the Jets' 28-25 loss to the previously winless Miami Dolphins on Sunday. He was targeted only three times in the game (two catches for 26 yards), one week after he was a nonfactor in a loss to the New England Patriots. His frustration, coupled with the Nov. 10 trade deadline, has fueled speculation about his desire to remain in New York.

Fifteen months ago, he signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension through 2030. The Jets dealt cornerback Sauce Gardner at the deadline last year, but there is no indication they're looking to trade Wilson, 26, who leads the team with 37 receptions and 444 yards. Coach Aaron Glenn, offensive coordinator Frank Reich and quarterback Geno Smith have all emphasized getting the ball to Wilson early and often.
