Harbaugh jokes about Skattebo's backflip fail

New Giants coach John Harbaugh jested that running back Cam Skattebo needs to execute his trademark backflip properly, especially given his surgically repaired ankle. "Dude, at least stick it. You know what I mean? Land the thing if you're gonna do it," Harbaugh said on the "Bleav in Giants" podcast.

Skattebo's backflip attempt at Fanatics Fest went viral for all the wrong reasons, drawing concern from fans as he is recovering from a right ankle dislocation. Skattebo, however, assured he was "perfectly fine" and attributed the fall to "bouncy" floors. He had previously returned to practice with an agreement to forgo backflips, despite having performed one after a home run at the Brian Burns Celebrity Softball Game in May.

Despite the injury that ended his season in Week 8, Skattebo has shown significant progress. He recorded 617 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns before his injury. Harbaugh expressed confidence that Skattebo will be fully prepared for training camp, stating, "He's been working super hard, he's really been training like crazy. And his mind is on camp. You know he's healthy, he's ready to roll."
