J. -- Cam Skattebo scored the Giants' first touchdown of the season and celebrated with a cartwheel and backflip, marking his return after a gruesome leg injury against the Dallas Cowboys. Skattebo rushed for 81 yards on 18 carries and played his usual physical brand of football, running over Cowboys linebacker De Marvion Overshown multiple times.

New coach John Harbaugh praised his effort, saying he set the tempo and brought energy. Skattebo admitted he contemplated retirement during rehab but worked through uncertainty and soreness to return. He started Week 1 as the feature back, handling 69% of the rushing workload and playing 41 of 63 offensive snaps.

He downplayed the attention, noting wide receiver Malik Nabers also returned from a torn ACL. Skattebo said he and Nabers supported each other in the training room, with both overcoming serious injuries to play in Week 1.
