Former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl cornerback Trevon Diggs plans to sign a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

The move addresses one of Seattle's biggest question marks and offers Diggs a chance for a fresh start with the reigning Super Bowl champions after a tumultuous ending to his tenure in Dallas last season.

"I'm looking to show that I'm still the best," Diggs said Wednesday. "I'm looking to show that I just want to win, be there for my teammates, be a great teammate and be a great player."

Diggs has several preexisting connections to Seattle. In Dallas, he played with Seahawks outside linebackers De Marcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr. and cornerback Noah Igbinoghene. Defensive coordinator Aden Durde was on the Cowboys' coaching staff during part of Diggs' time in Dallas. He also played with cornerback Josh Jobe at Alabama, where defensive backs coach Karl Scott was their position coach.

"I was supposed to see a couple other teams, but I liked it here a lot," he said. "It feels like home. I've got a lot of familiar faces, Coach Scott, AD, so just being a part of those guys, those guys knowing me, knowing where my heart is, knowing how I want to compete, it felt right."

A second-round pick in 2020, Diggs was named a first-team All-Pro and selected to the Pro Bowl in 2021 after setting a Cowboys record with 11 interceptions.
